Tiny house in the Allgäu
The Allgäu has two seasons, and both count: summer with hikers and families, winter with skiers. A unit let here runs in January in snow and in July in heat — and that demands planning for both, not for one.
In the Allgäu units are planned for year-round operation: insulation, heating, ventilation and frost-proof water routing for winter, shading and cross-ventilation for summer. Snow load is verified per site. The town pages lie in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg; what applies there under planning law is on the two state pages, with the official source.
Two seasons, one unit
A unit let in winter is a different unit from one shut down in October: it needs insulation, heating and ventilation that hold the room in January, water routing that does not freeze, and an entrance that stays walkable in snow. The same unit needs shading and cross-ventilation in July, because a small house with a glass front warms quickly in the sun. Both are decided at layout and specification, before building.
Snow load and roof form
Snow lies in the Allgäu, and how much a roof must carry is set by the site's snow-load zone. The verification belongs to the project documents per site. The roof form plays a part: what stays on a flat roof slides off a steep one — and then lands in front of the door or on the terrace, which is considered at placement.
Who plans here
In the Allgäu it is hotels adding rooms in the grounds, holiday parks with series projects and campsites with year-round operation. Each of these operator types has its own page with what to clarify before enquiring.
What applies under planning law is on the state page, with the official source:
